Why we started ModeloTax
ModeloTax began with one apartment in Spain and a tax form nobody had mentioned.
In 2024 Michiel de Vries bought his first apartment in Spain. The purchase, the mortgage and the insurance were all well prepared. Only after he got the keys did he learn he had to file a Modelo 210 every year as a non-resident owner.
The gestoría the seller recommended was slow. It sent invoices without explanation and only spoke Spanish. Every question came back as a scanned Spanish form. "I paid a few hundred euros a year without knowing what for," says Michiel.
That experience became ModeloTax. Michiel founded it with Hidde Top, to give owners the clarity he never had.
What we do differently
- Everything is in your language: Dutch, English, German or Spanish.
- You see every figure in your filing and why it is there.
- A Spanish gestor checks your filing before it goes to the Spanish tax office. We also actively look for every deduction that lowers your tax.
